Pottery Classes at Carolina Clay Connection
Learn to throw on the potter's wheel. All levels, beginner through advanced. Instructor - Leon Nichols, master potter. Most sessions are 8-weeks, summer session is 6-weeks.
The Wednesday morning class includes some handbuilding.

We can arrange a private pottery class. Call for details.
Sculpture classes – figurative sculpture, instructor – Chase Winfield
$60, private class, usually mornings, by appointment only
$40 each for two person class.
Classes are very small, call first to reserve space.
Beginners are welcome. Call to register, as class size is limited and priority is given to currently enrolled students.
Please note that due to heavy demand, we usually have a waiting list so put your name on it several months prior to the class. Class includes firing of class work and house glazes.
Dress for mess! Wear clay clothes, bring an old towel, a large sponge for clean-up, and a small bucket. You will need a basic pottery tool kit, available to our students at a discount. To register, call, come in, or fax registration.

how to make custom tiles. Sculpting, carving, and various surface designs will
be explored. Included is a discussion of drying and firing to minimize warping.

May 2-4, 2014 Raku Workshop at Wildacres!
We will be having a Raku Retreat/Workshop at Wildacres on Friday May 2, through Sunday May 4. Wildacres is an artist and writer's retreat located in the scenic North Carolina mountains near Little Switzerland. To check out Wildacres go to www.wildacres.org.
To participate in the workshop we suggest you bring 10 -12 bisque fired pots (raku clay only, other kinds crack during firing). Jinny Hagrave will be leading the workshop. Glazing will be done Friday night, Firing on Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine (They have a ventilated, covered area for raku). We will finish around noon on Sunday.
Cost is $250 for the weekend, and includes lodging, all meals and the workshop!

Sculpture Workshop with Peter Rubino
at Carolina Clay Connection in Charlotte NC !
Contemporary figurative sculpture will be explored with well known sculptor Peter Rubino who has recently moved to Charlotte. We will meet every Sunday in June from 1:00-4:00. Planning to have a live model. This will be an exciting opportunity to work with clay in a three dimensional format.
